20 million YouTube views for Kell Kay, Yo Maps & Prince Luv’s Bana Pwanya
Zambian and Malawian collaboration 'Bana Pwanya' soars high breaking records as it hits over 30 million cumulative streams

A first for a Zambian and Malawian artist as Bana Pwanya by Kell Kay featuring Zambia’s finest export Yo Maps and Prince Luv hit over twenty million YouTube views in nine months, setting record as the most streamed song in either countries on YouTube.
The song was released on April 12, 2024 then instantly becoming a viral sensation after several fans from both Zambia and Malawi made various TikToks because of its contagious rhythm, melody and lyrics.
The song has seen several tiktokers making over two hundred and twenty two thousand(222,000) videos to the original sound, rendering it a viral sensation and acquiring millions of streams.
The song has so far aquired, 20 million YouTube views, 1.945 Spotify streams, 7.9 million Boomplay streams and 262,000 Audiomack streams setting the song for over 30 million streams from only these platforms.
The success of the song saw the artists tour three cities in August 2024 in Malawi which included Lilongwe, Blantyre and Mzuzu – selling out all the three venues. It is suffice to say this is collaboration has raised more revenue for both artist making it the most successful collaboration a Zambian artist has ever been on.


The song went ahead to be nominated at the MASO awards 2024 in the categories best song, collaboration and music video winning the later, meanwhile the artist was nominated in five categories at the award show. Their tour ‘Kell Kay & Yo Maps TOUR’ also won ‘best produced event’ at the award ceremony.
The chemistry between the two artists, Yo Maps and Kell Kay is nothing short of amazing, their collaboration on Yo Maps’ latest album MY HERO titled ‘Ma Rules’ demonstrates the artists’ unique creative processes which their fans should not be stave of.
Many spectators look on to see if the two will come on in 2025 to give their beloved fans another song to dedicated to their loved ones or to dance to on a weekend after seeing the success of their previous single. Well the only thing they have now between that happening or not is time.
