YO MAPS’ RECORD LABEL CONFIRMS THAT HIS BOOKING FEE WILL BE 255,000 ZAMBIAN KWACHA
A post by Olios Records, suggesting that the artist’s booking fee this year will be 255,000 ( equivalent to $9,190.41) has sparked debate.
This means if tickets will be priced between 100 to 200 Zambian Kwacha, the event promotor will need between 1,275 – 2550 people in attendance to recover the artist fee. This is excluding logistics, accommodation, venue and other necessities.
Yo Maps’ fans will now require to pay at least 300 Zambian Kwacha and above, for the events to be profitable. Are you fans ready to pay 300 Zambian Kwacha for an ordinary ticket to attend a Yo Maps’ show?
Yo Maps does an average of four shows a month, at that rate the artist will be making a million Kwacha a month, with his yearly shows revenue likely to be more than telve (12) million Zambian Kwacha before tax.
Comments on the post has had many people throwing sarcastic comments with one noted saying, “I will see him ku chililo.” Yo Maps will be back on the road performing starting 21st February, 2025 as the artist took a break from entertaining his fans, his record label said.
What are your views on this, do you think Zambian artists deserve that amount or more?
