365,000 SPOTIFY AND 3.2 MILLION BOOMPLAY STREAMS FOR JAE CASH’S VOICE YO DULA IN 5 DAYS

Celebrate rapper Jae Cash released his highly anticipated album on 2nd March, 2025 dubbed Voice Yo Dula. With so much buzz around it the album has gone ahead to accumulate more than 3.2 million Boomplay streams in a space of five days whilst pulling significant strides on spotify.
Commendable is the response the rapper’s album has recieved from Spotify users as the singer has accumulated over 365,000 Spotify streams in the same period. The album performance on the platform is above regular for releases of most artists in the same period.
Top album songs from the platform include ‘Cha Kwa ‘Muzimai featuring JC Kalinks and Dizmo’ and ‘Husler’s Prayer featuring Goddy, Jemax and C Squared’ of which the songs have accumulated over 37,000 and 27,000 spotify streams respectively in the same period.
The difference in streams between Boomplay and Spotify is attributed to the fact that much of the Zambian audience use Boomplay as their source of music whilst Spotify is used only by a small portion of it which stream music on digital streaming platforms.
Despite that fact, there has been an increase in the number of users of the platform as observed from last year’s streaming pattens with over five albums hitting over a million Spotify streams, something not common in the industry.
The rapper has released two music videos from his album so far and they’ve both gone ahead to achieve over two hundred thousand views (200,000) on YouTube already. Voice Yo Dula album also took of over 90% of Zambia’s Apple Music top 10, further signifying the rapper’s work influence and potential.
At this rate, the album is likely to hit ten(10) million boomplay streams and one (1) million spotify streams in a month. With the album’s good reception, Jae Cash’s Voice Yo Dula is set to achieve massive popularity and possibly best album at this year’s Kwacha Music Awards. How far do you think it’ll go and what are you views so far?
