WE GET SIDELINED WHENEVER THERE’S A BIG EVENT IN SOUTHERN PROVINCE LAMENTS MR CROWN

Mr Crown who did not mention names took to his Facebook to vent about how artists from his Southern Province get sidelined when there are big events, a sentiment shared by fellow creatives from the region including rapper King Illest and comedian Lucky’s Comedy.
The ‘Don’t Go Away’ hit maker wrote on his Facebook as he quoted an image of his beloved fans wanting “Tonga” representation. Mr. Crown wrote, “I don’t know why, but it’s good when we sing in Tonga but(yet) when there is a big program in Southern Province, we get sidelined for artists who don’t sing in Tonga.”
This sentiment was shared by fellow creative Lucky’s Comedy who on March 13th addressed the organizers of the “Mosi Day of Thunder” over not including artists from Southern Province in their line ups and threatened to escalate the issue to Chief Mukuni if efforts to include local artists were not considered.
In the post, Mr. Crown mentioned that he was taking it upon himself to change the narrative. He wrote, “The cost is on me, the blame is on me, and the responsibility is on me. It may not be today, tomorrow, or next month, but one day, I will be the champion. So help me, God.”
The Mosi Day of Thunder Music Fest takes place on April 26th, 2025, at Busiku Grounds in Livingstone. The artist line up include Jah Boy, Towela Kaira, Jae Cash, Yo Maps, JC Kalinks, Triple M, Chanda na Kay, Izrael, and Y Celeb.
The artists’ frustration comes after over the years there has been little to no consideration for artists who come from the region in various events that take place in the region hence for a long time they have sent ‘inclusion’ pleas through social media post.
The creatives will now be hoping to see a change and getting included in future events as their art has now hit international standards with huge global impact, signifying the raised standard of work they consistently deliver.
