WE’VE SOLD “MONETIZATION” IDEA TO THE GOVERNMENT SAYS B FLOW

Zambia Association of Musicians(ZAM) president Brian Bwembya alias B Flow took to his socials to share news that has elated social users as he revealed significant progress in getting Zambia on the list monetized countries in Africa.

With the world quickly transition into a digital world and the way creatives gain monetary benefits from their art changing – it is about time Zambia caught up with the world, allowing creatives to make money from their content, a cause B Flow has pursued even before becoming ZAM president in March 2025.

After sharing several engagement updates with significant government institutions and officials, B Flow, in a “monetization update” post, wrote, “We have had meetings with ZRA, Ministry of Technology and Ministry of Arts. We’ve successfully sold the idea to them.”

A number of African countries which include Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa are monetised on platforms such as TikTok, Facebook and Instagram allowing creators to get paid from their social media content through features like Ad Breaks, Branded Content, and Stars.

With the government of the republic of Zambia having been sold the idea of monetizing digital plattforms, B Flow further revealed that their next mission is sorting out a payment system for the creators.

“Next, we are meeting Bank of Zambia and Ministry of Commerce to discuss the PayPal side of things,” said B Flow.

Regardless of not having a time frame in which this pursuit will bear fruits, creatives are excited and eagerly await for the monetization of Zambian content.
