MR. STASH HELPED ME CREATE “DON’T GO AWAY” AFTER PEOPLE CALLED MY SONG WITH MACKY 2 A FLOP – MR CROWN

In a post of reflection of how far one of the best artists to come out of southern province Bright Ng’andu alias Mr. Crown, he revealed how luck, faith in God, and talent were his stepladder to collaborating with Macky 2 and making his breakthrough song Don’t Go Away.

The singer reflected on a time in 2023 when he was still an underdog and making an effort to collaborate with Macky 2 through his 10/10 project.

According to Mr. Crown, he was the least favorite to win the majority votes in oder to earn the opportunity of working with the renowned rapper.

Amidst dwindling hope, there came the light at the end of the tunnel as he was named the winner of the competition. Despite preferring collaborations to competitions, this was life-changing for the singer.

“I was announced as the winner of the competition even when I wasn’t the best because when God gave me direction, it unfolded like a battle plan,” said Mr. Crown.

It was now time to work, Mr. Crown made KUMBELE featuring Macky 2. What would follow was criticism from his fans, who felt he did not do justice to the record. “A lot of people complained that it was below their expectation,” he said.

The top producer Mr. Stash, who had produced the Kumbele song after noting the criticism, offered the singer an opportunity to work on another record, stating that he saw a different kind of talent in him.

The two would end up making Don’t Go Away, a record that became the singer’s breakthrough track. The song has since accumulated over 18 million YouTube views.

Mr. Crown has remained consistent releasing hits, notably Maria and of recent, a remake of Namalambo, which has his fans in chokehold. The artist is really here to stay, and surely he is one who deserves an ear.
