UPCOMING ARTISTS ONLY PAY ME K500 OR K1000 FOR A FEATURE – RAPPER DIZMO TOLD PMC

TOP Lusaka rapper DIZMO while engaging in a casual conversation with media personality DJ PRESSURE T/PMC opened up about the unfair treatment of upcoming artists compared to established artists by media houses.

DJ Pressure T asked the rapper if that treatment was the same when it came to upcoming artists and established artists.
Dizmo responded, “Would you believe if I tell you up to now someone can actually pay me a 500 or a 1000 for a feature? I still get that.”
He continued, “So my feature fee is not really based on how big I am, you know? It’s based on who I feel like I need to help, you understand?”
The conversation went on with the rapper, revealing that he understands how hard it is for upcoming artists to make money, and since he wants to give back to society, he just charges a small fee.
He further added that it’s for that reason he does not announce his feature fees as he grows as an artist. “I’d lie if I tell you, oh! Apa manje ise ni 10, ise ni 15, ise ni 8 no,” said Dizmo.
Responding to DJ Pressure T’s question on whether he faces challenges with upcoming artists paying for a service and then he does not offer the service leading to complaints.
Dizmo responded, “There are people that have paid me, and I haven’t really attended to their services and stuff.”
The rapper attributed this to him having a work overload with little time. Hence, people have gone ahead to complain about him on interviews, saying he ate their money and never gave them the verse they paid for.
The rapper said that regardless of these complaints, he has never gone to the media to clear the air as he and the artist know the story. Hence, he sees no point in involving third parties.
Regardless of this fact, Dizmo offering verses at such a low price highlights his humility and understanding of where his coming from. This has gained him praise from social users.
