POPULAR vlogger Chitambala Mwewa alias Simon Mwewa Lane took to his socials to air his views on filmmaker Cosmas Ng’andwe’s continued powdering of his tribal cousins during Wanga Zulu’s funeral.
The vlogger has strongly criticised the act, stating that it trivialises the funeral and has termed the forcing of the “cousins” to pay money in order to avoid being powdered as extortion.
“I personally believe the chibuye thing has lost direction. It trivialises the loss of a loved one. It turns mourning into a circus,” said Mr Mwewa.
He continued, “This has to be addressed before we mislead the masses into believing that it’s culturally acceptable.”
The vlogger also said that Cosmas Ng’andwe’s poweredring act isn’t funny, has made the funeral seem less important, and he is sure the family isn’t pleased with his attempt to trivialise their loss.
“Cosmas is not grieving. He’s extorting money from mourners in order for them to avoid being doused with white powder,” he further added.
Meanwhile, the filmmaker has revealed that he has raised 8,000 Kwacha from the act that he has given to the family. He has further said that he would go live to address Mr. Mwewa.
Cosmas Ng’andwe’s traditional morning style comes after the death of fellow telenovela Mpali actor Wanga Zulu alias Mai Guru(Junza Nguzu) who passed away on October 9th and was being put to rest today.
