MARK ZILIGONE, alias DR. BISHOP REV. NKONGOLO, has announced that he is leaving bachelorhood after 6 emotionally agonizing post-divorce years.
“More than six years after my divorce, I have finally taken a step toward becoming a husband again,” wrote the comedian, but he didn’t mention who his fiancée is.
Mark said this period was one of the darkest moments in his life; he isolated himself and focused on taking care of his child, only finding refuge and solace in comedy, saying it saved him.
“Many people saw the jokes, the skits, the funny videos, and the laughter, but very few knew the battles I was fighting behind the scenes,” he said in part.
Two years after his divorce, Mark found his now-fiancée in the most unlikely way; they dated and took breaks when things didn’t work, only to find themselves together again, better and more ready for each other, resulting in him proposing on his birthday.
“I am reminded that healing is possible and that life does not end after heartbreak,” he reflected on his engagement.
Bishop Nkongolo ended his note with encouragement for people who are going through a divorce, saying they should find purpose and not let the situation define them.
“The best chapters of life are not always the first ones. Sometimes they are the chapters we never thought we would get the chance to write,” he added.
However, Mark was stingy with images of his engagement, only showing us the hands, the back, and a bit of his fiancée’s face. The images of the engagement were seemingly taken on a boat.
