B FLOW REVEALS SOME 2024 KWACHA AWARDS WINNERS HAVEN’T RECEIVED THEIR PRIZE MONEY, ENCOURAGES ARTISTS TO HAVE ACTIVE BANK ACCOUNTS

Zambia Association of Musicians president Brian Bwembya alias B Flow took to his Facebook yesterday to share a notice to the associations’ members encouraging responsible administrative management of their careers.
In the memo aimed at encouraging artists to formalize their their brand by having active bank accounts and putting their financial affairs in order, B Flow revealed that some artists who won Kwacha Music Awards at the 2024 ceremony did not receive their prize money due to not having or lack of active bank accounts.
“It has come to our notice that some of our members do not have active bank accounts, which has hindered their ability to receive prize money after winning awards at the 2024 Kwacha Music Awards,” – said the announcement in part.
B Flow who emphasized that the artists treat their music careers as a business as it is vital for unlocking opportunities and achieving financial stability and further said that the association’s executive is organizing capacity building workshops for both emerging and established artists.
The ZAM president ended with a call on it’s members to take the notice seriously further encouraging the 2024 Kwacha Music Awards winners to open or reactivate their bank accounts in order for them to receive their prize money as that is the company policy.
