The election of B Flow and KB Killa Beats as chairperson(president), and vice chairperson(vice president) of the Zambia Association of Musicians represents a pivotal moment in the Zambian music industry as they are regarded as highly effective individuals with great leadership skills and knowledge to pioneer Zambian music into a new era of prosperity.

It is because of the quality of individuals that the two new leaders of the ZAM national executive committee have why several industry peers such as Roberto, Slapdee, BrokenHill Emmy, and Mr. Crown among others took to their Facebook to congratulate and wish them prosperity.

All eyes will be on the new leaders as they try to address the issues that the previous administration struggled to achieve which resulted division among industry players. People are looking forward to seeing interventions that will be made to address monetization, piracy, industry disunity, and many more that have for a long time crippled artists careers.

B Flow, who takes over from Davision Munsanda Massaj, said in a Facebook post, “Our sincere gratitude to all Zambian musicians for giving us this mandate. United with one voice.”

On top of B Flow’s administration agenda will be persuading fellow artists who have shunned away from participating in any ZAM activities to register as members of the association – something his predecessor failed to achieve, and the main reason for why the calls for administration change echoed in every corner of the industry.

From now until the next election, the two leaders have a mandate to fulfil – to bring back hope in the association and change that artist have for a long time weeped for. Are they equal to the task? One thing for sure, they have a mountain to climb but they have everyone rooting for their success.
