Celebrating Macky 2: An Iconic Journey Through OC Oscillation’s Eyes

In a recent facebook post, renowned artist OC Osilliation shared the compelling story of Macky 2, also known as DJ Buga or Flava Boy, a figure who has left an indelible mark on Zambia’s music scene.

OC first encountered Macky 2 at THE VIP club in Kitwe around 2008 or 2009. Introduced by DJ Richie Richie, OC was immediately struck by Macky 2’s electrifying performance, which captivated the audience. This chance meeting sparked a collaboration that would become a pivotal moment in both artists’ careers.

OC recounted the creation of the hit remix “Umupondo” at his Obama Records studio, featuring several Lusaka artists. The remix was an instant success, catapulting Macky 2 into the spotlight. Despite a brief stint in jail that could have derailed his career, Macky 2’s popularity only grew upon his release, solidifying his status as a beloved and influential figure.
