Chef 187 Set to Shine at UK Festival Alongside African Music Legends

Renowned Zambian rapper Chef 187, born Kondwani Kaira, is preparing to wow fans at the 2024 Africa Music Festival in the United Kingdom. Today, he will play alongside some of Africa’s most renowned music luminaries, including Congolese singer Koffi Olomide, Nigerian hitmaker Spyro, and South Africa’s Amapiano wonder, Nkosazana.

Chef 187 shared his pleasure and tremendous honour in a poignant video statement uploaded on his Facebook page. “I feel very privileged to be going to the UK for the second time in a year,” he told me. “Artists from all around Africa will perform at the event. “It gives me festival vibes.”

Chef 187 emphasised the festival’s distinct atmosphere, citing its open-air environment and diverse audience. “It’s an outdoor event; we’re not confined to a hall,” Chef 187 stated. “The audience will be diverse, which gives me an opportunity to showcase my talent to different people who may not be familiar with Zambian music.”

This is Chef 187’s second appearance in the UK in eight months, highlighting his burgeoning worldwide popularity and the growing global acceptance of Zambian music. Aside from the event, the rapper has stated that he intends to see fellow Zambian and Leicester City footballer Patson Daka during his visit to the United Kingdom.
