DAVID KAZADI IS NOT FORMALLY CHARGED, WE ARE NOT FIRING HIM – THE ICON ZAMBIA IN FIRST PUBLIC STATEMENT

Since David Kazadi’s arrest on 2nd July, 2025 in Lusaka’s Long Acres area over his alleged connection to the viral Mwaka Halwiindi obscene oral sex video until his release on July 4th, 2025, the Icon Zambia remained mute on the issue.

Today, the Icon Zambia has officially released a statement regarding David Kazadi’s arrest acknowledging the seriousness of the allegations labelled against him.

They’ve further revealed that, up to date, Mr. Kazadi, who was arrested and now out of police detention, has not been formally charged.

In addition, they said he will remain a judge on the talent show and would take appropriate internal measures depending on the case’s outcome.

They concluded by stating that the Icon Zambia is a powerful platform that transforms lives and brings communities together through the force of music.

After his release, the following day, David Kazadi went to attend the Icon Zambia’s auditions at the Copperbelt University, in Kitwe, Copperbelt Province where he pulled massive crowds at the university with students led by their president chanting “Viva David Kazadi.”

In another turn of events, the woman he was whose leaked video got him into legal issue, Mwaka Halwiindi, faced public scrutiny as the evening that followed Kazadi’s release, saw a flock of more x rated videos of the socialite with other men.

With Mr. Kazadi still having his job as a judge on the Icon Zambia. The team now heard to Kasama’s Chikokola Gardens as talent show’s season 2 auditions continue.
