DJ KANDEKE WAS ARRESTED AND FINED 300 ZAMBIAN KWACHA FOR FIRING GUNSHOTS WHILE DRUNK IN NDOLA
DJ Kandeke, whose real name is Evans Nsongela, was arrested in Ndola for firing gunshots while drunk at a club called Bojangles around 03:07 hours in the morning.
Brief facts of the matter presented before Ndola magistrate Brian Simachela by public prosecutor Mike Mwalila are that, DJ Kandeke who is also manager of top Zambian artist Yo Maps, on the material day, 40 year old Chikoti Mulendwe of Lubuto, was at the nightclub when he received a phone call from his friend.
The prosecutor, Mr Mwalila, told the court that, when Mr Mulendwe went outside to answer the phone call, he heard gunshots that were being fired. He further started that the person who was firing was apprehended by the door bouncers and then arrested and charged by the police.
Mr Mwalila further told the court that during investigations, it was discovered that Mr Nsongela alias DJ Kandeke was the one firing gunshots before pointing at the complainant whilst drunken state revealed by the complainant. An act the complaint said it made him uneasy. Hence, he called the police.
“I was wrong. I have learned something from this incident,” said Nsongela alias DJ Kandeke in mitigation, addmiting to the wrong doing.
Nsongela was ordered to pay 300 Zambian Kwacha within 24 hours or serve a six months jail sentence reports the Zambian Daily Mail.
