DRIMZ GETS FIRST 10 MILLION YOUTUBE VIEWS WITH ‘SINGLE’ FEATURING JEMAX
Top Zambian singer Drimz's SINGLE has accumulated over 10 million YouTube views in a space of little over a year

Today, February 24th, 2025 – Top Zambian export Drimz has joined a club of only a few Zambian artist to achieve this milestone of acquiring over ten million YouTube views on one song. Drimz has done so with his hit song SINGLE that took the internet and street by storm in early 2024.
The song which was released on 19th January of 2024 features sensational Zambian rapper Jemax hailing from the same region of Kabwe as Drimz. The song has achieved this milestone in a period of a year, one month and four days, signifying the song’s infectious melody and lyrics responsible of it’s viral spread. Over the same period, the song has accumulated over 540,000 spotify streams.
Single by Drimz featuring Jemax gained massive popularity after release due to a part on the song that caught TikTok users attention as they resonated with the message. This part was on Jemax’s verse, everyone sang along as he described relationships as nosooner one engages in one than things went bad with his line, “waisula milk, mailo ni sour.” Overall the song’s message, rhythm and melody caught everyone’s attention setting the song as a household tune in a snap.
When asked during an interview with Chimweka last year on Diamond TV, Drimz stated that he knew the song was going to hit. He said before he releases a song, the artist’s wife listens to it, and hence before this particular song came out, the wife overhead him playing it and requested to listen, when her and his daughter couldn’t get over it, he new he had records to break.
The song talks about a person who feels that they should just be alone rather than being in a relationship and being looked at as a fool because of love. Majority of people in Zambia and abroad resonated with the message because of multiple dysfunctional relationship. With Lusaka being regarded as a place not to fall in love but for business, many young people who have been victims on love scams found the song fitting perfectly with their situations adding to its popularity as they abused the repeat button.
The singer now joins a list of only a few Zambian artists to achieve this milestone on their channel with a single song. These artists include Yo Maps with his songs Try Again, SOMONE, Pick It Up and Confirmation, Roberto with his Amarulah, Triple M with his Follow and Mampi with her Walilowelela.
Drimz is a vasetile artist, who from inception has stayed true to his sound and overtime creating timeless music, and an achievement like this was definitely going to happen given his consistency. For now congratulatory messages go to Drimz for the well deserved milestone.
