Enterpreneur and motivational speaker Dumisani Lingamangali Ncube embarked on a 40-day “Breaking Boundaries” campaign.
His 14th day message of that campaign revolved around how most people want big rewards with little to no effort. His message was centered on gambling and how it has destroyed many lives, something he has observed first hand.
Coupled with a sense of responsibility and not wanting to prostitute his brand, Mr. Ncube revealed that he turned down a 350,000 USD(9.4 million Kwacha at that time’s exchange rate) Africa Must Think Conference sponsorship from a betting company in exchange for promoting and being it’s ambassador.
This revelation sparked mixed feelings as it did not sit well with some social users who thought it was irresponsible of him to turn down such a huge and life changing sum of money.
Meanwhile, other social users applauded him as one was noted, saying, “People won’t just understand your your principles and standards you have set. That was so brave of you to turn down that offer.”
Faced with backlash for his decision, through his socials, Mr. Ncube responded, “I don’t regret turning down K9.4 million from a betting company.”
He continued stating that some individuals who have been negatively affected by gambling reached out, applauding him for taking such a bold step. “This has further cemented my stance on the issue!” Said, Mr. Ncube.
Dumisani Lingamangali Ncube alias The Radical entrepreneur strongly believes in generating real wealth which he says takes time, discipline, work, and patience to achieve and not shortcuts “betting” which initially seem like entertainment but eventually turns into loss, addiction and regret.
“Betting impacts lives negatively, and I wish to impact lives positively! You’re not meant to live by chance. You’re meant to live by purpose, strategy, and faithful action,” he said.
