The grand finale of The Icon Zambia took place yesterday night at the Music Club in East Park Mall, providing a stunning evening of talent, emotion, and show-stopping performances.
As six finalists took the stage, only one could be declared the ultimate winner – Emmanuel Muleba. The production, produced by Kazadi Films and sponsored by ShopRite and Jelumu Zambia, highlighted Zambia’s best untapped talent, culminating in an exciting triumph for Muleba.
A Star-Studded Event
The evening kicked off with a stunning red-carpet entry hosted by Hot FM’s popular presenters Pzee and Honey. They were joined by other Zambian entertainment celebrities, including rapper Bobby East, who was accompanied by his daughter, and Peter Mylife, among others.

The gathering was bursting with excitement and expectation as fans, family members, and well-wishers waited for the main event.
Ruth Ronnie, David Kazadi, Wezi, and Ballard Mutale Zulu, the show’s respected judges, shared their expertise and enthusiasm for music on the judging panel.

However, the winner of The Icon Zambia Season 1 was ultimately selected by viewer votes, demonstrating the importance of fan support and public choice in moulding the future of Zambia’s music industry.
The dynamic combination Medad and Simon Mwewa Lane hosted the event, and their charisma and crowd involvement kept the excitement up throughout the evening.
In the first round of performances, the candidates were matched with well-known Zambian artists like as James Sakala, Dizmo, and 76 Drums, which provided both excitement and challenge to the hopeful finalists.
However, following this round, candidate Kasazi Mananase was eliminated, reducing the competition to five.
Born Bless and Antony Ramsey were eliminated in the second round, leaving Kalangwa Nkamba, Shammar Daka, and Emmanuel Muleba as the only contenders remaining.
Each gave their final performances with great creativity, highlighting their individual songs in an attempt to win the title. In the end, Emmanuel Muleba’s performance wowed both the judges and the public, securing his win as Zambia’s first Icon.
A Life-Changing Prize
For Emmanuel Muleba, the night was nothing short of revolutionary. Muleba also won a brand-new Mercedes-Benz, a house, a cash award of 100,000 Kwacha, and a recording contract for 1 million Kwacha.
