RECAP DAY 1 TO 10: FAITH BWALYA AT MISS WORLD IN TELANGANA, INDIA – WHAT HAS HAPPENED SO FAR?

The highly anticipated beauty peagent MISS WORLD is currently underway in Telangana, India, and Zambia is featuring this year after 7 years of absence at the prestigious competition as it is represented by Faith Bwalya who is a Medical Licentiate by profession and is the founder of “The Voice of Faith Foundation.”

The 24-year-old model traveled to India on May 5th from Lusaka’s Kenneth Kaunda International Airport – with a send-off that was characterized by traditional dances from people clad in local traditional outfits Faith wore a Zambian flag colors inspired outfit made by renowned Zambian designer Nkanda Yatu.

Faith Bwalya arrived in Telangana, India, at her hotel room on May 6th, 2025, at 11pm. (Indian local time) and then went live, updating her fans about the amazing and hassle-free trip and reception she had.

Here is a recap of some of the major events that took place since the beginning of the event on May 7th, 2025.

DAY 1(May 7th, 2025):

After settling in, Miss World Zambia 2025 – Faith Bwalya shared an update as she had her first dinner at the Trident Hyderabad with other contestants since arriving. During the dinner, she wore a black strapless maxi dress with a plunging neckline.

She captioned her dinner apdate saying, “Tonight’s dinner, Miss World was serving Beauty , Brains and Purpose on the menu. What a beautiful night with my pageant sisters. Day 1 dinner.”

DAY 2 & 3(May 8th & 9th):

On the second day, Faith Bwalya joined fellow Miss World 2025 contestants who took part in rehearsals in readiness of the highly anticipated opening ceremony of the peagent’s 72nd edition at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium that was scheduled to take place on Saturday,10th May, 2025.

During the rehearsal day, she joined fellow contestants to have dinner. Stunning is not a word enough to describe her day 8 and 9 dinner outfits look.

DAY 4(May 10th, 2025):

On the fourth day, Miss World Zambia 2025 – Faith Bwalya participated in the Opening Ceremony of the 72nd Miss World Festival, which took place at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad.

During the opening ceremony of the 72nd edition of Miss World. It was a showdown of traditional outfits as nearly 110 contestants from different countries put on a show of heritage and aesthetic through their rich traditional costumes.

Zambia’s representative, Faith Bwalya, ran the show, looking stunning in a Zambian tradition inspired outfit, knitted with love and passion to give her a breathtaking appearance.

DAY 5 (May 11th, 2025):

On the morning of 11th May, 2025 – the contestants took interviews, and Zambia’s representative Faith Bwalya took a pose for the photographs at Trident Hyderabad.

DAY 6 & 7 (May 12th & 13th, 2025):

On the 6th day of Miss World, activities included a showcase of some contestants’ skills during the Talent auditions, and Faith Bwalya was one of the contestants who participated in these talent aud

Letter on in the evening, the Zambian representative shared sent a heartfelt message home appreciating the support she has recieved so far during the competition as she wrote, “Grateful beyond words for the opportunity to represent and inspire on a platform as beautiful as Miss World.”

She continued, “It’s been a week of nothing but immense joy and gratitude. The love I have received is something I could never describe. Times and times again, I find myself thanking God for such a beautiful journey. It is so fulfilling and heartwarming. Thank you, Zambia, for showing me the definition of Ubuntu.”

The following day (13th May, 2025) she gave an update on her adventures that day as she captioned a post, “Today will be a full of exploring and having a taste of the rich Indian culture in the heart of India, Telangana.”

DAY 8(May 14th, 2025)

On the 8th day of the ongoing MISS WORLD in Telangana, India , they hosted a Miss World Welcome Dinner, which unfolded in spectacular fashion at the majestic Chowmahalla Palace, a jewel of Hyderabad’s royal heritage.

The spectacular dinner featured a lavish spread of local Telangana cuisine, offering the contestants a taste of authentic Indian flavors, beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared.

The model wrote on her socials, “Today was the Miss World WELCOME CEREMONY which was held at the amazing Chowmahalla palace in Hyderabad India. What a night! Thank you, Miss World, for making all this possible.”

DAY 9 & 10 (May 15th & 16th, 2025)

Miss World Zambia 2025 – Faith Bwalya revealed a twist in this year’s MISS WORLD competition as it introduces a challenge competition of which the winner will be decided by votes, with votes costing a specific amount of money. The winner of this challenge makes the first selection on the final night that will take place on May 31st, 2025.

Today May 10th,2025 – Faith Bwalya gave a speach during a Medical Tourism event hosted at the AIG Hospitals in Gachibowli, Hyderabad where part of the 72nd Miss World Festival, 25 contestants joined the experience to exchange knowledge and lear about cutting-edge healthcare advancements.

In her speech, she said, “I am Faith Bwalya from Zambia, I am a medical personnel by profession, I graduated last year so to be here is an indeed pleasure and honor. I feel like I’m standing before role models.The one thing I want to say to you today as AIG Hospitals is you are an inspiration. You are so powerful! In as much as we define ourselves as beauty with a purpose, one thing you should know is you have added beauty to the medical field with purpose because of how you define this hospital, you work so well to change the perspective.”

She continued, “I have had my mind changed so beautifully in the way that you see medicine because you try by all means to prevent the disease.”

She further added, “And looking at where I come from – home, this is a perspective we should carry which is so powerful, prevent it before it gets any further. Thank you for shifting our perspective when it comes to the medical field. Thank you for changing the narrative when it comes to medicine, we see greatness and I believe in five to 10 years we will be talking about and having a different conversation, which will be nothing but greatness, thank you!”

These key events mark the lead-up to the 72nd Miss World, which will culminate in the crowning of the new titleholder at the HITEX Convention Center on May 31.

Faith Bwalya’s composure and performance so far at the ongoing 72nd edition MISS WORLD is highly commendable as it has been able to get the attention and support of many social users. The most favorite moment from this event is Ms Bwalya’s outfits, which have left followers of the program in awe.

It is now 15 days away from the crowning of the new Miss World titleholder, and Zambians hope that their representative takes the crown from now titleholder Krystyna Pyszková from the Czech Republic.
