I PROBABLY LOOKED LIKE A FADED ARTIST IN THEIR EYES – CQ VENTING ON DJS’ ATTITUDE WHILE PROMOTING HIS NEW SONG

Singer CQ took to his socials to vent about his experience the previous night when he went on a new song promotion spree in clubs, distributing his it to DJs.

The singer said that during the night, as he stopped at various clubs and approached DJs, he met one’s who had choking egos and attitudes and some? Had the hospitality of a five-star hotel.

In the post, CQ praised the DJ who plays at Cloud Night Club in Kabwata and DJ Smalls, who plays at Royal Park Chilenje. “Thank you for the reception. We value such associations,” said CQ in post.

The singer’s sole purpose of making this post was to raise awareness on an issue that he says no one has the urge to discuss.

The singer started by calling out a couple of DJs, who, during his new single promotion club tour, did not attend to him well.

He called out one DJ from Club Touch Down for having an attitude and pre-mixed playlists, hence missing out on “gold” tracks when then they are presented to them.

CQ then talked about a slim DJ at Eden club who he described as, “good and approachable,” but further added that he made a point to show that he was in charge and doing him a big favour.

“DJ on decks seemed like one of those DJs that want you to know that they’re in charge, feeling like attending to you, is doing you a big favor. I was put off, but hey, who am I? possibly a faded artist in their lens,” vented CQ.

“Well, I’m saying all these things because I believe there is no DJ without music from musicians and there is no musicians without DJs to play and influence the masses to create big hits,” added CQ calling for mutualism in the entertainment ecosystem.

CQ observed that some artists are overplayed than others who most likely have club bangers like the DJs are paid further called for more unity and less ego among the industry players.

“I have seen big songs out on social media platforms, but shockingly, they don’t meet the cut to be showcased in clubs, and thats worrying for a growing industry like ours,” added the singer.

CQ said had it not been for the efforts to promote his new song “Signal featuring Jemax” he wouldn’t have known this.

However, the singer’s tour was not just about promoting a song. It was a wake-up call for mutual respect and balance in the entertainment ecosystem.
