I SLEPT HUNGRY, LOST WEIGHT AND FAILED TO PAY MY SCHOOL FEES BECAUSE OF THE LAWSUIT – KAYZ ADAMS

While featuring on the Zambian Music Blog Talks aka ZMB Talks with EDNA, singer Kayz Adams opened up about how Vinchenzo M’bale and his associates’ lawsuit affected him.

“I got affected to a point where I lost weight, I was broken, I couldn’t concentrate. The only people who helped me were the people who were close to me, who knew what was happening,” said singer KAYZ ADAMS.

The singer added that he stopped visiting his parents because they kept asking him why he was losing weight and if his work was difficult and stressful.

“Until now, the truth is that I fail to sleep, I don’t know, it’s hard for me to find rest,” added KAYZ ADAMS before saying that he became broke to the extent of sleeping hungry, failing to help his parents financially and dropping out of school because he couldn’t afford his tuition fees anymore.

According to Kayz Adams, there was a signed an agreement, between him, Vinchenzo and associates.

The agreement was that he would make music and they would provide finances, manage him and promote the music.

He revealed that he was not happy with how business was being handled describing the situation as “business failed.”

He stated that sometimes he would go to perform when he was booked but would not get his cut after the show.

Vinchenzo would then offer him transport money to go home and tell him to use money from features of which he said, he made only about K2,000 from a feature which wasn’t enough to sustain him and his brand.

In addition, Kayz Adams said that his music was being uploaded to streaming platforms under MBALULE ZILILE but the agreement did not contain such a clause.

After seeing all this, he therefore, requested to leave the partnership and the day before he wanted to release his first single as an independent artist, he received a call informing him of the lawsuit.

He said his last release with Vinchenzo and associates was ‘ALIKO featuring BOBBY EAST & Bloodkid’ in MAY, 2024 and his first single as an independent artist was ‘AMAKE KONA featuring FLEX ZM’ in NOVEMBER, 2024.

The singer revealed that they wanted a “buy out” for all the things they did for him when he was with them, a sum of 850,000 Kwacha was the figure they requested if he wanted to go solo.

After fighting in court the entirety of 2025 without a lawyer, he told EDNA that he won the case and described the time during and after the case as emotionally traumatising and depressing.
