I STARTED MAKING SECULAR MUSIC AFTER A GIRL I WROTE A LOVE SONG FOR HATED IT AND REJECTED ME – CHILE ONE

While featuring on Kenny T 1 ON 1 podcast, Chile One opened up about how love made him switch from singing in the church choir to making secular music. “Nayena kwati ilyashi lyama love lyalengele njambe nefyama secular,” he told Kenny T.

The singer narated that he wrote a love message to a girl he was in love with at his school. Unfortunately for him, the girl showed the SMS to a female teacher who then directed her to read it in class while he was present.

A genuine act of professing love turned him into a mocking spree as almost everyone at school started laughing at him.

“Kali nkana, kali fye mu situation fye imbi nakena. Okay ekali ka first ukufwaya muntu so nefya kweba ati ndeya bwino bwino tefyali sana nani kani, nshishibe fyakutita but I was disturbed the whole entire time,” Chile One told Kenny T.

The singer would now up his game and record a love song for the girl, intensifying his efforts to win the girl over. This move went horribly wrong as the girl gave the song to a female teacher, and it was played in class for everyone to hear.

“Kwisa mutumina ka lwimbo, no kusa kapata futi kuya kuliba madam kubalanga nandembela no lwimbo futi kululisha mu class na blower nomba balenseka fye ba bugah, banjita ati ba bugah ine,” the singer told Kenny T.

The singer also revealed that the money he used to record the love song was meant to pay for school practicals. Therefore, he did not do the practicals.

The release of this “love song” was the first time Chile One did a secular song after featuring on several gospel songs.

It would be his meeting with Sky P and IMK Africa that got him to fully pursue making secular music, and Chile One was birthed.

In 2020, Chile One decided to go solo after being part and working with TEAM AFRICA, and later on became a mainstream artist with the success of his wedding song Fwe Bakuchaume.
