JAE CASH AND DIZMO ARE THE BIGEST ARTISTS IN LUSAKA, ROBERTO ON BBC THIS IS AFRICA’S SPECIAL EPISODE “ZAMBIA KU CHALO” PART ONE

When it comes to holding down fellow industry peers – singer, producer, and radio host, Roberto stands out amongst others. On the recent episode of BBC Sounds’ This Is Africa hosted by DJ Edu special edition focused on Zambia, Roberto took time to shout out artists that are currently doing great things.
DJ Edu asked Roberto to name artists that he thinks are huge currently on the Zambian music scene. The singer mentioned several names on the “Zambia Ku Chalo” special edition part one. On his list, he did not forget to mention rappers, Jae Cash and Dizmo.
He told DJ Edu of the BBC, “Dizmo and Jae Cash, these two artists are pretty much like the biggest artists on the ground, here in Lusaka. So when you go to the mass density areas, you’ll probably hear more of Jae Cash and Dizmo but not forgetting that Slapdee and Macky 2 are still considered icons.”
The artists have truly truly taken over the streets, and the fact that a top Zambian artist such as Roberto has been able to recognize that, signifies how impactful the Apa Ili So Entertainment artists have been on the music industry.
Roberto, in his response, did not forget to acknowledge industry leaders Macky 2 and Slapdee as they have paved the way for the two new leaders, enabling their smooth sailing success in their individual careers.
Jae Cash and Dizmo’s relatable rap lyrics, which are usually based on real-life situations, have enabled them to penetrate the densely populated areas of Lusaka, Zambia as their songs highly resonated with those people. With their consistency, they’ve become not only household names but beloved artists in those areas.
For Roberto, his desire to keep elevating other artists is really admirable, evading Zambian music lover’s hearts. This is just icing on the cake – read many other things he said about his peers here.
