Singers Jay Trigga and Ari released their collaboration NATIONALITY on 11th April, 2025 after weeks of high anticipation following a TikTok snippet that had the platform users yern for the full song like an opiate addict short on supplies.
After the official release, the song was well received by industry peers such as Mwaka Halwiindi and Vumbwi who created videos reacting to the song but at the epicenter of its success was tiktok users lured by it’s infectious melody and catchy lyrics into using the song’s sound over 82,000 times.
A month after its release, the song has accumulated over 132,220 spotify streams and 380,000 YouTube views, translating to over half a million times people clicked play to listen to the song. This represents a 160% increase in spotify streams and over 38,000% increase in YouTube views from Jay Trigga’s regular numbers.
The song has also gone ahead to take over local clubs’ playlists, radio, and TV charts. Some of the charts it has featured on include;

● Joy FM’s Top 20 countdown where it reached NO. 1
● Power FM’s Top 10 where it debuted at NO. 7
The song which also topped Zambia’s Apple Music chart and got a shout out from Chop Daily(With 1.9 million instagram followers) got the two singer a performance slot at Color Fest 2025 with rapper Jae Cash vibing along while they sang to a crowd that seemed emotionally submerged into their rhythm.
With Heineken sorting for their services, the massive impact of Jay Trigga and Ari’s Nationality single now had only one term to define it “MASSIVE.”
The two artists have received several bookings since the song’s release. It was obvious as observed from the massive response during their performances how show attendees sing along word for word signifying that song had the country in chokehold – everyone is left with no choice but to know and recite it.
The bigger challenge for the singers now is using this momentum to climb the next step on the stepladder to being an established artist in Zambia and the rest of the world.
Jay Trigga already has tough jams, but after so much success with his previous single ‘Nationality’, fans are already thirsty for his next release – will he deliver? That is a question only time has answers to. One thing is for certain, expectations are high.
