James Kawele Kavimba is a Zambian hip-hop artist popularly as Jemax, originally from Kabwe, the artist has solidified his place on the Zambian music scene, one can’t mention top 5 Zambian rappers without his name on the list.

This is Jemax’s latest release, featuring 23 tracks with top singles such as Mpawi which features Kays Adam & Jae Cash and One Day which features Yo Maps.
The album has received massive airplay and streams notably on the top African streaming platform Boomplay, with it accumulating over 30,000,000 streams, a feat hip-hop artist can only dream off.
The hip-hop artist took to social media to celebrate this feat, he wrote –
“This year is one of the best year ever to me i really appreciate the love and support you people are giving me, ma shwe shwe shwe. Thank you for 30 Million streams on Boomplay in less than 2 months”
He becomes the second male hip-hop artist in the country to achieve this with The Numeral Uno “Chef 187” ‘s Broke Nolunkumbwa accumulating over 70,000,000 streams on the platform.
This is a significant achievement for the Zambian music scene, these numbers were unheard of. It shows that Zambians are now streaming music online and the rest of the world is now listening to Zambian music, something which is worth celebrating!
This is suffice to say Jemax is a top artist in the country right now, if one is looking for a hip-hop artist who can headline a show or be a brand ambassador, one should not look any further than Jemax.
