Kidist Kifle expressed shock at the reception of the death threat as she has remained various enraged and aggrieved individuals’ targets. “We are burying you very soon satana iwe(you devil),” said the anonymous person in several messages sent to her through Facebook following social media frenzy over Elias Musyani’s arrest at Lusaka, Magistrate Court on Friday, 21st March, 2025.
In recent months, Socialite Kidist Kifle, who is top Zambian singer Yo Maps’ wife, has been attending several court sessions in which she sued blogger Elias Musyani for harassment using electronic means. It is alleged that the blogger had threatened to rape her and her daughter, something she said still tramatizes her(News Diggers).
On Friday, 21st March, 2025 – Elias Musyani was found with a case to answer and placed on defence by a Lusaka Magistrate Court judge. The highlight of the day was Elias Musyani, who turned into a human rights advocate as he was immediately arrested outside the courtroom, causing a social media frenzy.
The viral videos circulating online showed the non-resistant blogger Elias Musyani being manhandled from the belt and trousers by non-uniformed officers while he shouted, “I’m innocent,I’m being harassed here, for what?” as he was being taken to a vehicle. Furthermore, his relatives, notably his mother, followed behind with desperate cries for her son’s freedom as she accused singer Yo Maps of targeting her son. “Yo Maps, you are killing my son,” she weeped.
In another video, Kidist Kifle was heard surprised by Elias Musyani’s arrest as she said while leaving court, “Manje achita chani(What has he done),” seemingly oblivious to why he was re-arrested. But it would soon be revealed that the arrest was made due to new allegations of publishing a defamatory post made in February of 2024.
When everyone thought they could now rest, Kidist Kifle shared a screenshot from her inbox in outer disbelief of being targeted as she received insults and allegations of being a prostitute, witch and her mother is a home breaker from a seemingly very enraged and aggrieved individual.
What touched her was the part where the person whose account was labelled only as “Facebook user” told her that she would soon be buried. The socialite with an emotional message wrote in response, “I was laughing until I saw the death threat. Do you people realize that even fake accounts a(re) easily traceable?”
The Mulenga’s have a target of several social media attacks over the years, hence they have been put in positions to defend themselves, and when they do, it usually results in a social backlash labeling their retaliation as outlandish. One thing for sure is that many people agree that the death threat was out of proportion.
