KING DANDY’S DANCER’S FATHER AND AMAKE SOKO TOUCHED MY HEART WRITTEN BY B FLOW
A guest article by Brian Bwebya alias B Flow on Dandy Krazy late dancer's parents

A night before King Dandy’s burial, Mr Lundulanga arrived at King Dandy’s funeral house in Lusaka, all the way from Ndola. This was barely a day after burying his own son Warren Lundulanga (also fondly known as “Zawale” or “Veli Veli” or “Ichibokolo”) who was Dandy’s dancer.
The man rushed to Lusaka because he couldn’t miss the burial of his son’s boss whom he held in high esteem. In fact, even when Dandy was admitted in UTH, this man and his wife still kept in touch with us to wish King Dandy a quick recovery yet their own son was no more. The real meaning of “ubuntu”, right?

His gesture touched my heart. I tried to sympathize and empathize, but in the end, I arrived at the conclusion that this man considered all the people we lost as his own children.
This is evident in how Mr Lundulanga worked closely with us right from the first day we heard about the mįsfortune. He traveled from Ndola to Kapiri for body identification and postmortem. He was in Kapiri for a couple of days until we managed to move all the three (3) bodies while King Dandy was addmitted in hospital.
He was also with us at the Lusaka Showgrounds for King Dandy‘s send-off and funeral service. He left for Ndola after Dandy’s burial to continue mourning his son Warren. What a big heart he has. After we buried all our four (4) brothers, Mr Lundulanga still kept in touch.
Last week, he came to Lusaka to thank all the musicians on behalf of his family for all the help rendered during and after his son’s funeral. After spending a day with him, I took him out for some nshima with fish at a random restaurant in Rhodes Park which I later found out belonged to Auntie Carol (the lady who plays Amake Soko in Yo Maps Yo ‘s Try Again music video).
When Aunty Carol found us eating, she said she was humbled by my presence and added that she had followed all the four (4) funeral processions on my page. As she emotionally expressed herself about all the families one by one, I revealed to her that the man I was having a meal with was actually the father to the late dancer for Dandy.
You can imagine how touched she was. She was so touched that she went to the counter and told her workers to give me back the money I paid for the food. After that, she prayed for us and spoke a blessing in my life.
Although it was my first time meeting the amazing Aunt Carol, when we said bye to her, she further gifted me with some more cash as a way of appreciating me, but I decided to give it all to Mr Lundulanga because I believe he needed it more. May God richly bless her and her business. Dandy Krazy left us with a big family indeed.
