KING TEC SAYS ROBERTO KICKSTARTED HIS PRODUCING CAREER

One of the most profilic producers in the Zambian music industry Jethro Sibulowa popularly known as King Tec spoke about his major breakthrough into producing for the top artists in the music industry as he threw accolades at singer Roberto on POWER TV’s Zaye Zahala hosted by Suecey.
Suecey asked the producer how his career kickstarted after completing a sponsored sound engineering program in South Africa. He responded, “It kickstarted when I did my first song with Rob, Mwamuna Bwanji.”
King Tec revealed that his work with Roberto was his first professional work with a big artist but had earlier worked on other projects such as BASIMBI, an album by Mr. Crown, which has songs such as Namalambo back at Punchline Studios in Choma.
The producer revealed that his meeting with superstar Roberto was through former Zambia Association of Musicians president’s recommendation when the singer went to perform at Lee Love in Choma.
The producer who didn’t believe meeting the singer would do some work with him but forgot to get his number as only Roberto got his.
Five months later, he would receive a phone call from Roberto to go to Lusaka and finish working on their song “Mwamuna Bwanji” they had started working on back in Choma.
The producer who acknowledged several individuals and institution’s contributions in shaping him into the producer he is now said Roberto has done the most as he has been under his arm for the longest time. “Roberto has been like my guy, my person,” said King Tec.
The producer now sits on the elite Zambian producers’ table, having several records playing on every street.
Some of the notable songs King Tec has produced include Roberto’s Poverty, Bestie and Born To Win album, and Yo Maps’ Superman featuring American artist Omarion and nine songs on MY HERO album.
King Tec is now working in partnership with Charms Music. As a naturally born producer, professionally trained sound engineer with 15 years experience, it seems nothing stands in his way as he is now one of the most sought-after music producers in Zambia.
