Since their viral collaboration 'finally' in 2019, the two artists have turned everything they touch into gold
In 2019 – rapper Macky 2 put his vocals on now superstar Yo Maps‘ breakout single FINALLY and the singer skyrocketed to prominent fame setting the beginning of his dominant form on the Zambian music scene. That was not the duo’s last single as they collaborated on several more songs which have all been internet sensations. We look at the collaboration the two have had since their first gem.
In the years that followed the two collaborated on a track titled ‘BANONO’ featuring Yo Maps as they sent a messages of praise to their lover – they are few like you. The song went ahead to accumulate over 4.5 million YouTube views since its release 5 years ago (on Mziki Media and Yo Maps’ channel).
In trying to encourage their fans, letting them know that God has their back and things will work out relieving them of their troubles, the two collaborated on a track titled ‘Alabalansa’ featuring Yo Maps, a song that accumulated over 5.5 million YouTube views since its release 4 years ago. The song resonated with many Zambians due to its ‘hope giving’ message and generally it’s listeners being Christians.
Love has been on the center of the two top artist’s collaborations, just like their fist song FINALLY featuring Macky 2 which accumulated 3.6 million YouTube views – their single Mutima Wanga featuring Yo Maps was based on a romantic interest, a song that accumulated over 7.4 million YouTube views signifying it’s contagious message and melody. The song is the duo’s most streamed song.
In appreciating African beauty, the two artists shared a beautiful rhythm praising a woman for her African authenticity as their beauty is ‘Natural’ on their collaboration ‘Ni Natural’ featuring Yo Maps which has accumulated over 3.7 million YouTube views.
The two artists never forget to praise God for their success, they dedicated their vocal as they share the gospel in the best way they know how to on this tune titled ‘Teti Ndabe’ featuring Yo Maps, a song that has accumulated over 1.5 million YouTube views.
With Yo Maps finally deciding to put Macky 2 on one of his albums, MY HERO, the two put out ‘Kanofye’ featuring Macky 2 as the song became their seventh collaboration in 6 years.
The singer’s melodic vocals and catchy rhythms combined with the rapper’s top bar lyrics attributes to their successful releases over the years – all their official music videos have surpassed 1.5 million views – their combined effort is truly influential.
