I am aware of the sensationalised and misleading reports currently circulating about my court case.
Let me be very clear: I do not make explicit content. I would never make explicit content especially not after what happened in the past where a nude video was leaked WITHOUT MY CONSENT.
What I mentioned was that my ex-partner recorded me without my knowledge and consent in attempts to blackmail and intimidate me into dropping the assault case that is now before the courts. The private content in question was not produced by me. It was a violation of my privacy as a person.
Crown TV’s statement and report were framed in a way that omitted critical information and spun a harmful narrative. Because of that framing, the story has snowballed into other media houses, spreading harmful and misleading coverage that does not reflect the truth. This type of reporting worsens the bullying and trauma I am already surviving.
Any attempt to suggest that I am connected to the production of explicit material is false, defamatory, and a further violation of my dignity. I am grateful that the republic of Zambia has made provisions through the cyber laws to pursue legal action on people who bully and making false claims against others. I will be taking legal action against any media institution or individual who choose to make false accusations or sensationalized statements and articles about me. Enough is enough. I have stood by and endured all the bullying and harassment for years, but I will not stand by it anymore.
I am a human being. I am allowed to report abuse without fear of being bullied, shamed, or exploited simply because I am known. I am also tired of living a life marked by bullying and trauma. It has taken God’s grace, therapy and support for me to survive and be here today after so many years of being wrongfully judged, bullied and harassed on a daily basis.
It took my strong will to seek justice while knowing what might be made of it on social media. I understand that my courage to pursue justice may inspire others who may be going through similar or worse but are too afraid to pursue justice. Many people have lost their lives to GBV and it is a very serious matter.
As people who have daughters, mothers and sisters, I ask you to imagine how you would want them to be treated in such a situation. Compassion and empathy are not just ideals, they save lives.
No woman, known or unknown, should be silenced or humiliated for seeking justice. I also ask that journalists report on this matter properly and responsibly. This is a sensitive issue and should be treated with the seriousness and dignity it deserves.
To the public, I would like to appeal to you to be considerate of my feelings during this phase. As a survivor of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and as a public figure, I could use your kindness and support through this difficult time in my life. Please remember that compassion and empathy save lives.
I love you all, and I am deeply grateful for the many years of support you have shown me, both as a human being and as a brand.
