NAMAKAU NAWA RECEIVES 160,000 KWACHA IN DONATIONS FOR A CAR TO FACILITATE HER AMBASSADORIAL DUTIES

TOP Zambian model Namakau Nawa’s performance at the just ended 16th edition of Miss Supranational was persuasive enough to influence people getting into their pockets and donating a 160,000 Kwacha towards her Honda Fit.
The donations came in after Namakau Nawa’s extraordinary performance in Małopolska, Poland where she won Miss Supranational Africa 2025, SUPRA Model of the Year and SUPRA Model of the Year 2025 – becoming the first Zambian model to win and place that high at an international peagent.
Her success prompted her national director Alice Rowlands Musukwa to solicit funds from the republican president Hakainde Hichilema stating that a model of her class can not be getting on a bus to go and perform her duties(eg. in Kafue). Hence, she needed a car.
Ms. Musukwa requested the president to buy Namakau Nawa a 2014 Honda Fit pegged at 158,000, but she didn’t receive any response. This then culminated into requesting her contacts and social users for donation.
She wrote confirming reaching her goal, “As we all waited to hear from our beloved, hardworking and understanding father, Zambians, you took it personal as you raised K50,000 and my contact list, thank you for being kind and supportive.”
She continued, “You donated K108,000 towards our newly crowned Miss Supranational Africa winner. The first ever Zambian to advance to this stage in the pageant history.”
Namakau Nawa has received overwhelming support, which not only reflects the nation’s pride in her achievements but also highlights the power of community in recognizing and uplifting talent.
With her new vehicle, Namakau Nawa is now better equipped to fulfil her ambassadorial duties across Zambia and beyond.
Namakau Nawa’s story is a great example of how excellence, when matched with public goodwill, can drive real change.
