The well-known Nigerian music group P-Square’s Peter Okoye has officially addressed recent accusations made by his twin brother Paul Okoye. Peter, also known as Mr. P, responded to Paul, popularly known as Rudeboy, in a long declaration about their respective roles in the group’s accomplishments.

Before their notorious breakup, the duo—praised for their distinctive fusion of R&B and Afrobeat—rose to prominence as one of Africa’s most popular musical acts.

In his statement, Peter bemoaned Paul’s constant attempts to minimise his contributions to the founding and upkeep of P-Square.

He emphasised that Paul had minimised Peter’s contribution while claiming credit for almost all of the group’s accomplishments, including composition, production, and performances.

In particular, Peter disputed Paul’s assertion that he composed and performed the majority of P-Square’s songs, saying this was a fabrication that damaged their joint reputation.

In addition, Peter defended his efforts on songs like “EjeaJo,” a joint effort with American rapper T.I. that Paul had supposedly called a bust.

He emphasised that P-Square’s success resulted from their teamwork rather than from individual contributions.

Peter enumerated a number of P-Square hits, such as “Bizzy Body,” “Get-Squared,” and “Shekini,” and questioned if his brother thought the same of these co-written songs.

Following their 2017 breakup, fans and industry insiders have been speculating about the brothers’ rift, bemoaning the loss of one of Africa’s most successful musical acts.

Peter’s remarks reflect a fight for acceptance and respect inside the group, shedding light on the underlying problems that have fuelled their continuous dispute.

In addition to discussing the emotional toll the conflict has had, Peter also mentioned how he had frequently chosen to keep the peace by not answering Paul’s accusations.

He questioned the idea that either Rudeboy or Mr. P is more successful as a solo artist, asking whether their solo careers have achieved the same heights as P-Square once did.

Peter concluded by urging a halt to the public arguments and highlighting the importance of respect and understanding for one another.

Instead of pursuing their competition, he pushed his brother to recognise the strength of their combined abilities and concentrate on regaining their past success as a team.

Fans are curious about what will happen in the next phase of this ongoing controversy, and Peter vowed to address the EFCC situation that was brought up at the end of his statement.

The public fallout between Peter and Paul Okoye continues to captivate fans, many of whom hope for a reconciliation that could restore P-Square to its former status as Africa’s premier musical duo.
