“THE DRESS WAS HUBBY’S FAVORITE,” DANDY KRAZY’S WIDOW HELLEN RESPONDS TO SHOT DRESS AND DANCE MOVES CRITICISM 

When everyone thought they could finally let late legendary artist Dandy Krazy rest in peace, chaos ran through social media as a video of late singer’s wife Helen Chalwe dancing, reportedly during a tribute event held in honour of her husband in Lusaka at Bo’Jangles went viral with most people saying she wore a short dress and danced inappropriately.

A social user said the song that was being during the tribute event was done by Glorious Band, “Chishi ndelolela kwati bakabwela… nachipwa nabaya,” which translates to what am I waiting for, it’s done, they are gone. The video in which she was seen dancing seductively in a short dress was widely shared, sparking various debates on social media.

The late singer’s wife wore a short black dress as she made dance move social users regarded as sexual and seductive. Social media users were divided on whether she is right or wrong to dance and dress like she did, with those against her siting traditional values and lack of respect for her husband who died barely two months ago. Those siding with her stated that people mourn differently.

When a social user asked her why she danced seductively, the singer’s wife responded, “Its the music weh, it triggered the ka dance[laughter emojis],” she continued, “Isolation wanted me to follow him lol.” This has left social users more perplexed on the issue, wondering and concerned that it could be depression that she is steaming off.

Another social user insinuated that she was doing it for her children’s food and encouraged her to wear something long next time. The singer’s wife, through the Facebook page ‘Helen Dandrianah Chalwe’, again responded, “There’s nothing like kids want food, what do you know? The dress was hubby’s favourite.” She wondered what people wanted her to wear and further said, “Healing won’t happen anytime soon, believe me. Apa kuikoselashefye[right now, its just to be strong].”

“Next,” she quoted a post from Keg & Coppersmith announcing another tribute show in Kitwe this 21st March, 2025, with performance by Dandy Krazy’s former backup vocalist. The wife is on tribute events spree.
