THE ICON ZAMBIA RETURNS FOR A SECOND SEASON, WINNER’S PRIZE TO INCLUDE A TRIP TO PARIS

In 2024 – Zambia saw the birth of a musical talent show that won over many people’s hearts and a first of its kind. In its course, The Icon Zambia season 1 had set trends, entertained masses, and turned a dream to reality as Emmanuel Muleba won the highly contested talent show.

The season 1 winner walked away with a brand new Mercedes-Benz, a house, a cash prize amounting to a hundred thousand Kwacha, and a record deal worth 1 million Kwacha with Kazadi Music.

The Icon Zambia returns for a second season this year and the prize is mind blowing as it promises the winner a fully paid trip to Paris in France, a car, a cash prize, and so much more. Ambitious is what is going to set the contestants apart as the show’s theme is “Born in Zambia, made for the world.”

Last season was filled with controversial stories, especially surrounding the judges as Kidist Kifle stepped down from being a judge – an issue that escalated to court as over contractual disagreement.

David Kazadi was also highly criticized for his judging style as many people felt his blunt commenting approach made him unfit to be a talent judge with his, “You’ll never make it in this life or the next,” comment towards a contestant setting emotions ablaze causing public outcry.

The event had six finalists, which included Born Bless, Emmanuel Muleba, Antony Ramsey, Shammar Daka, Kalangwa Nkamba, and Kasazi Mananase.

Kalangwa Nkamba, Shammar Daka, and Emmanuel Muleba would make the top three with Emmanuel Muleba coming out victorious after a public live vote.

The Grand finale was held at the Music Club, East Park, by on 24th October 2024. The judging panel included Ruth Ronnie, Wezi, David Kazadi, and Ballard Zulu. The show lovers will have their eyes locked to see if the judges will return for a second season.

With last season one being highly contested and the grand finale being watched by thousands online, setting records for any talent show ever held in Zambia, this year’s show promises to be better and bigger.
