Vinchezo: From Prayers to Stardom —The Rise of Eastern Zambia’s Breakout Star
Vinchezo, an artist from Eastern Zambia who is currently well-known in Lusaka, is rising to fame very rapidly.
Vinchezo is well-known for his raw voice and genuine delivery, and his ascent to fame has been incredibly motivating.
The singer, who is signed to Galaya Entertainment, has overcome all obstacles to realise his goals and show that skill and tenacity can really lead to success.

From Aspirations to Achievements
Vinchezo’s reality was very different a few years ago. Before the October 14, 2022 release of his breakthrough single “Ma Reasons,” the musician would frequently find himself begging for the same success that the legendary Yo Maps had attained with the term “Mulungu wa Yo Maps,” which translates to “Yo Maps’ God” in Zambian.

He had no idea that his prayers would shortly be answered in ways that were beyond his wildest expectations.
As of today, the song “Ma Reasons,” which features Bobby East, a former labelmate, has amassed an astounding 4.4 million views on YouTube.
With this accomplishment, Vinchezo’s career underwent a sea change and his long-held goals were realised.
Consistency and Hard Work Pay Off
Vinchezo’s career took off after “Ma Reasons.” Since then, the musician has put out four more tracks, all of which have amassed more than one million views on YouTube.
“Cold One,” another collaboration with Bobby East, has 2.1 million views; “Machimo,” featuring Slapdee, has 1.9 million views; “Jehovah,” a duet with Yo Maps, has 1.3 million views; and “My Favourite Person,” with Kayz Adamz and Triple M, has won over listeners’ hearts with over a million YouTube views.
These achievements highlight Vinchezo’s consistency and dedication to his craft.
Beyond these hits, he has several other tracks with hundreds of thousands of views, further cementing his place in Zambia’s music industry.

A Controversial Yet Beloved Artist
Vinchezo’s music is not without criticism, despite his fame. His compositions frequently examine topics that many might find controversial, including the acceptance of human frailty in “Machimo” or the use of alcohol as a stress reliever in “Ma Reasons.”
His first EP, Chakolwa Wa Nzeru (which translates to “A Drunkard with Brains”), was heavily criticised for emphasising beer-related topics.
But the EP also had inspirational messages that struck a deep chord with people who battle with life’s obstacles, especially the young people living in ghettos who deal with everyday struggles, substance misuse, and relationship problems.
Despite his contentious themes, Vinchezo is nevertheless well-liked probably because of his capacity to relate to his audience, especially those who feel excluded.
It’s evident that “Mulungu wa Yo Maps” truly answered his prayers, as seen by the fact that his YouTube channel has over 93,000+ subscribers and over 15+ million cumulative views.
Vinchezo’s path from seeing Yo Maps’ achievement in his dreams to realising his own is proof of the strength of talent, tenacity, and self-truth.
