Social media is in a frenzy as former Miss Universe Zambia management 'PR GIRL Media' throws a Miss Universe Zambia resuscitatation shade post, but at who?
In a statement made on January 17, 2025 – PR GIRL a fashion and entertainment promotion company discontinued its management of MISS UNIVERSE ZAMBIA after just a year of working on the local peagent.
PR GIRL Media sited a careful consideration of their company and the various projects that demand their attention to expanding their business and ensuring its growth as reasons for the withdrawal of their services.
Barely a fortnight after the announcement, Chichi of PR Girl Media took to her social media and made a post that was taken for a subliminal jab at the new Misss Universe Zambia peagent management headed by Ms Alice Rowlands Musukwa as she wrote, “Does anyone else have a “dead” brand that PR Girl Media could resuscitate?”
Socialite and TV host Steffan Phiri quoted the post with the caption, “Ms Alice Rowlands Musukwa they’re talking about you here, ati you’re a dead brand,” which caused a frenzy as Ms Alice just took over the local peagent management.
Meanwhile, in her response to the jab, she said, “they will be okay one day, we are happy the industry has CPR Services, less stress. I pray for healing,” a more calm response than most would expect. This exchange was taken by several social users as regarding the local peagent and it’s management.
The local peagent has been called a failure in the past, saying its peagents had limited success at the international level such as Miss Universe. The coming in of PR Girl Media saw Ms Brandina Lubuli feature at the Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico last year in November which saw Ms Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark crowned winner. Miss Brandina Lubuli did not make the semi-finals at the event.
In late November, 2024 – Ms Alice Rowlands Musukwa who is a former Miss Universe Zambia was quoted saying PR GIRL Media had failed Ms Brandina Lubuli at the 2024 Miss Universe which took place in Mexico sighting below par preparation for the representing peagent which resulted in widespread criticism in the preliminaries where her national costume, swim suit competition and evening gown showcase where regarded as poor.
The followers of the new peagent now look forward to see the changes the new management will make as they try to fix the mistakes they called out the previous management had made hoping for a successful local peagent event and producing a competitive peagent for the 2025 Miss Universe.
