WYCLIF MWAMBA BUYS K200,000 WORTH CAMERA AFTER SUCCESSFULLY SOLICITING K50,000 TOP UP FROM FANS
TOP Zambian filmmaker Wyclif Mwamba has announced to his fans that he has bought the 200,000 Kwacha worth ARRI Alexa Classic camera and is currently in his possession.
The famous CONTRAVENE movie filmmaker took to his socials a few weeks ago requesting donations from his beloved fans to help him top up as he had a 50,000 Kwacha deficit on his budget
“So for this camera to reach us we need about K200,000 and we have managed to raise K150,000. We are requesting for the remaining K50,000. Tuzonkeleniko ama K20 kuti yakwana,” he said in the post soliciting funds.
In the post making the successful purchase and receipt of the camera announcement to his fans, he wrote in part, “My super fans, I have some exciting news to share. The camera is finally in.”
He continued, “Thanks to you all for your contributions and, above all, thank you, my brother Mr Mubanga Bornfire Mulilo, for making my dream come true.”
The donations request comes in as the filmmaker tries to make efforts to improve the quality of his films and eventually pitch the movies to major movie streaming platforms such as Netflix and Hulu.
Wyclif Mwamba was scheduled to start shooting his next movie featuring telenovela ZUBA star Mwaka Mugala in June, but production did not.
With the new camera, the filmmaker now hopes to make this movie of quality and acceptable international standards. “Apa nomba lekeni tumipangile nafimbi ifima film bantu besu,” he said in his conclusion.
