Yo Maps and Omarion’s “SUPERMAN” Official Video Struggles on YouTube
Speculation Rises as New Release Underperforms on YouTube Despite Star Power, Accumulating a Mere 170,000 in 2 Days

Yo Maps and Omarion’s “SUPERMAN” Official Video Struggles on YouTube
With previous songs like “Nga Te Ba Yahweh” and “Confirmation,” which featured Nigerian singer IYANYA, both gaining enormous attention, Zambian musician Yo Maps has made a name for himself on YouTube.
However, fans and critics were puzzled when his most recent video, SUPERMAN, which features American R&B singer Omarion, failed to garner 500,000 views in the first two days—something Yo Maps easily done with his previous releases.
Given Omarion’s involvement, many had anticipated SUPERMAN to soar, but it appears the American singer’s star power hasn’t produced the desired effects.
It took more than ten days for the official SUPERMAN audio, which is connected to the Stanbic Music Festival sponsorship, to get one million views as of right now. It’s unclear if the official video can outperform the audio as it has only managed to get 170 thousand YouTube views.

In Zambian media circles, this underwhelming response has generated discussion. While some contend that Yo Maps is now the more popular artist as a result of this collaboration, others wonder if this is going to have an impact on ticket sales for the 2024 Stanbic Music Festival, which features Yo Maps and Omarion as headliners.
There are doubts regarding the second show that is taking place today after the first concert on October 11th (yesterday)failed to sell out. Will the combined impact of the two be sufficient to fill the venue?

Yo Maps, meantime, is setting new marks. He’s the only musician from Zambia to accomplish this accomplishment on four distinct videos with his hit tune Confirmation, which is currently only 200,000 views away from reaching 10 million views on YouTube. The future popularity of SUPERMAN is still up in the air as fans look forward to the next big release.
