Yo Maps detained over immigration issues by Namibian authorities
In a fate similar to that of fellow Zambian popularly known as Prophetess Naise, Yo Maps has been detained by Namibian authorities over immigration issues reports Kalemba in a post made today July 14, 2024 on Facebook and it read in full
“BREAKING: Namibian authorities have detained Zambia’s most happening musician Yo Maps over immigration issues… Details coming”
The superstar travelled to Windhoek in Namibia to headline a show, but as fate would have it like that of Prophetess Naise, the superstar got detained.
Several fans reacted to the news, one wrote “Small Issue – I am sure it’s just some misunderstandings! You don’t even need much paper work to get in Namibia 😅”
Another wrote “He should pay a Work permit for his businesses in Namibia; the same way they do it in Zambia for Foreigners.
It’s not his Father’s Land.”

YO MAPS LEAVES POLICE DETENTION
Artist Elton Mulenga, better known by his stage name Yo Maps, was granted court bail and was freed from police custody following an arrest in by Namibian authorities over lack of work permit.
The artist is currently in his hotel, according to Hon. Steven Katuka, Zambia’s High Commissioner to Namibia, but he will be back in court on Tuesday morning.
DJ Kandeke, his manager, has had all charges against him withdrawn.
Following the artists’ release this afternoon, Yo Maps, DJ Kandeke, and Mr. Lloyd Himaambo, Zambia’s Deputy High Commissioner to Namibia, are shown in the photo.
