YO MAPS’ NEW ALBUM “COVER COSTS” WAS 736,000 KWACHA – OLIOS RECORDS

YO MAPS spent over 736,000 Kwacha in “cover costs” revealed his label OLIOS RECORDS. What did he really spend it on?

An economist and music industry specialist from ZEDIFY ONLINE unwrapped. Here is their analysis.

“COVER COSTS” is the amount an artist spends to legally use someone else’s music on their album.

In YO MAPS’ case, if he used a beat, melody, part of an artist’s song, cover or sample, the 28,879 British pounds ( approx equivalent to 736,000 Kwacha) went to securing permission and/rights to use them.

Furthermore, this may include paying original songwriters, publishers and other licensing fees.

The label announced that the album is complete and they were struggling with “cover costs” which have the since been sorted.

Is the album ready for release in MAY?
