YO MAPS PERFOMED AT THE SAME WEDDING AS DIAMOND PLATINUMZ LAST NIGHT, ANY COLLABORATION HAPPENING?
Yesternight Zambian social media got into a frenzy after it learned of Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platinumz’s presence in Zambia and his performance at a private wedding at Glynview Events in Lusaka.
Several videos and images flooded social media as they showed Diamond Platinumz performing at the wedding ceremony with the couple and event attendees seemingly enjoying and dancing along.
Later in the evening, a video of top Zambian artist Yo Maps was widely shared which showed him performing at the said private wedding. The singer was performing his current biggest hit from MY HERO album, “Peace Of Mind featuring Roberto,” to a seemingly ecstatic audience.
This prompted peculations causing social users to ponder on the thought of a possible collaboration between the two artists and how huge it would be for the Zambian industry – not only because if featured Diamond Platinumz but that it tags along two talented leading giants in music from both countries.
To book or collaborate with Diamond Platinumz is expensive as fees reach millions of Kwachas(may cost over a $100,000 which is equivalent to 2.696 million Kwacha) according to several media reports.
For a juvenile entertainment industry like that of Zambia – such an investment even for an artist like Yo Maps, if not going bankrupt but would injure him financially significantly, unless they collaborate with other sponsors to make the collaboration happen.
For now, social users are only hoping that something materializes from this link up and does not only end on shaking hands and taking pictures with the top Tanzanian export Diamond Platinumz before he goes back in his private jet.
