YO MAPS’ SONG APPEARING IN CHILE ONE’S NAME ON DSP’S CONCERNS FANS
Several fans have showed concern over Yo Maps songs which show other people's names on digital streaming platforms

With part of the revenue coming from digital streaming platforms, fans of top Zambian artist Yo Maps are concerned after noting that one of his songs TILIKO featuring top Zambian singer and producer T Sean showed that it was in Chile One Mr Zambia‘s name on digital streaming platforms.
TILIKO featuring T Sean is one of top releases by the singer and fans are concerned and are wondering how a song released by one artist would find itself on a various digital streaming platforms in another artist’s name. A recent check on Spotify and Apple Music reviewed that the singer’s song is truly in singer Chile One Mr Zambia’s name.

His music lovers have noticed that the song also has a flyer in the name of artist Chile One with the title TILIKO but the artist does not have a song with that title. Furthermore, a Google search of the song revealed results showing Chile One Mr Zambia as the owner of the song with Yo Maps’ lyrics.

To add on the dilemma, the fans are also wondering how almost all Yo Maps’ songs are shown to belong to one ‘Haggai Zm.’ An observation made from the songs of his recent album titled MY HERO showed that when a song is used as a sound on platforms such as Facebook, the title appeared correct (eg. YO MAPS – YESU) but on top it showed a different owner, Haggai Zm.

According to online information, a mix-up such as this one where Yo Maps’ song ends up in Chile One Mr Zambia’s name can be caused by various factors which include:
1. Incorrect artist tagging during upload which is referred to as metadata error.
2. If the distributor such as Distrokid or Africori mistakenly assigns the song to another artist, due to name similarities or incorrect database.
3. Spotify algorithm incorrectly assigns the song to another artist and lastly a hacked or misused account.
Singer Yo Maps stands as the most influential artist of his time – his streams on digital streaming platforms sets him isolated from the rest of his industry peers. The gap between him and his peers would require a lot of input to close hence his beloved fans would like to know if all revenue goes to their favourite artist.
Whatever the case is, the singer’s fans would love to see the artist’s management correct the error and have the songs appear in his names. For now all they can do is wait and see the response from Yo Maps’ team in clarification of the issue. What do you think happened for this mix-up to occur?
