I SURVIVED ON K20 SWEET POTATOES A WEEK AS I RECEIVED K200 MONTHLY UPKEEP IN UNIVERSITY – AARON DOMINIC

Comedian AARON DOMINIC says he used to eat K20 “Kandolo” from Monday to Sunday while at university because his mother used to send only K200 for monthly upkeep, as he narrated his struggles while pursuing his studies.

“Things became worse, worse to the extent that ukumfwako limbi nalapenena. I went through things I wouldn’t wish anyone to go through,” he emphasized.

The comedian, who is famously known for his love for Nshima skits, narrated that he came from a poor family; with his mother and father separated, he had to find ways to foot most of his bills.

“I failed because of multitasking, yeah. Nailya yakweba ati you need to attend classes, you need to look for money, you need to do assignments… like fyonse kusikulu and again ulefyaika nempiya shakweba ati ama rentals, ufwaye fyakulya,” he highlighted his struggles that led to him failing and repeating a course after getting a D.

Aaron, the fourth-born in a family of six, said his parents divorced when he was 8 years old, leaving him to move from one relative’s house to another, and described his situation as, “If you don’t fight for yourself, no one will fight for you.”

Aaron Dominic’s struggles can be seen in how much he celebrated his graduation with a diploma in Clinical Medical Sciences General from Levy Mwanawasa Medical University, as it spanned weeks.
