SLAPDEE CALLS IT QUITS WITH WIFE MATAKALA LUBINDA
After several years of romance, the rapper's wife announced in an instagram post that their relationship was beyond their control marking its end
Today, February 22nd, 2025 – Slapdee’s wife Matakala Lubinda announced through her private Instagram account (yours_rakgadi), the news of her separation from top Zambian rapper Mwila Musonda alias Slapdee after several years of marriage.
According to an article by Tumfweko published on 10th February, 2015, the couple first got married in 2011 and divorced in November, 2014 by the Chilenje Local Court where he ordered to pay 300 Zambian Kwacha as child support. The specific details about their reunion have never been disclosed. Their union had remained out the public for almost its entire duration.
Matakala Lubinda through her instagram handle when announcing their separation said, “never met anyone that has gone into marriage with the intention of divorcing. We all get married in hopes to grow old with our loved ones. Life happens and we then take a different path.”
The rapper’s ex wife added in what seemed like an emotional message as she tried to give reasons for their devorce, “me and Slapdee have both decided to go our separate ways because life has happened and it’s beyond our control.”
According to several social media reports, the couple have two children together but the the rapper has three and these include Zamani Musonda, Nandi Musonda and another one who was only shared in a welcoming post in June, 2021. The couple have always kept their personal life private with only a few sightings on social media.
Social users are wondering what has really happened with the couple to reach a point of no return. Two year ago, the rapper’s ex wife in a video form had to dispel allegations of gender based violence reports against her as she categorically stated that they (her and her ex husband Slapdee) resolved their issues in a civil manner and there was no such incidence.
One notable incidence was on February 10th, 2015 after the rapper missed a court hearing due to an illness as he sent a woman who went by the name of Wendy with a sick note to represent him. He was sued by his now ex wife Matakala Lubinda over child custody in the Lusaka Magistrate Court reported Tufweko article.
Adore by his followers, the 37 year-old rapper now has his fans waiting for a comment from him – the rapper is almost never in social users’ feed due to scandals. The wife now only asked for privacy and respect for their decision, she further wished him well in his future endeavors as she navigates life a single mother of two.
