WE HAD 30 SONGS FOR YO MAPS’ MY HERO ALBUM, WE RELEASED 13 – SAYS PRODUCER KING TEC
While featuring on POWER TV’s Zaye Zahala hosted by Suecey, top Zambian producer King Tec spoke about working with Yo Maps on MY HERO album and how they first met.
Responding to his host Suecey’s question on how he feels about being accorded the amount of work he had on Yo Maps’ My Hero album.
The producer responded, “It was a great privilege I can say because I wasn’t expectant that we’ll be working on such a big body of crafts and music but it later came to my attention and we got into it.”
King Tec continued as he said working on the album came with mixed feelings further stating that he had to suggest a couple of things on the project. “It was a very interesting journey. We had thirty songs. We released thirteen out of thirty,” said the producer.
He further added that being one of the executive producers of the album was challenging and, at the same time, exciting to work with Yo Maps.
When asked if his close association with Yo Maps has helped add a few followers boosting his brand, the producer responded in affirmation.
King Tec produced and co-produced nine of the thirteen songs on Yo Maps’ third solo studio album, MY HERO, songs that include top bangers such as Bana Bandi, Peace Of Mind and Tamunaka.
King Tec is a professional sound engineer who says he started producing professional music after Roberto took him from Choma to Lusaka so they could work on his Mwamuna Bwanji in 2022 and the two letter produced more hits together such as Bestie and Poverty.
King Tec would later meet singer Yo Maps through producer C Mark, who is also his cousin. Since their meeting, the two creatives have made several hit that have kept Zambians and their fans alike on their feet.
