FRANK RO, ESTHER CHUNGU, JAY ROX, LULU WOOD, AND KING NACHI GET NOMINATED FOR MUSIC VIDEO AFRICA AWARDS(MVAA) 2025
The Zambian music and entertainment industry has continued to grow exponentially over the years, and so has the recognition of homegrown content and talent. This has been exhibited by the continued nominations and winnings at various international awards.
This year is no exception as some of the country’s top talents including Frank Ro, Esther Chungu, Jay Rox, Lulu Wood, and King Nachi Beats contend for prestigious awards at the Music Video Africa Awards 2025.
The aforementioned creatives have been nominated as follows:
□ Singer Frank Ro has been nominated in two categories, which include BEST MVAA MALE ARTISTS OF THE YEAR 2025 AND BEST MVAA SONG WRITER OF THE YEAR 2025.
□ Producer King Nachi Beats has gotten a nomination in the category BEST MVAA MUSIC ENGINEER/PRODUCER OF THE YEAR 2025.
□ Gospel artist Esther Chungu bagged a nomination in the category BEST MVAA GOSPEL ARTIST OF THE YEAR 2025.
□ Singer Jay Rox got a nomination in the category BEST MVAA MUSIC VIDEO OF THE YEAR 2025 for his smash hit MFUMU featuring TIM’s music video.
□ Socialite Lulu Woods has been nominated in the category BEST MVAA INSPIRATIONAL WOMAN OF THE YEAR 2025.
This is the second edition of the MVA AWARDS as they launched in 2023. During the last edition(2024), over twenty Zambian creatives were nominated, including Yo Maps, DJ Kandeke, That Zed Podcast, King Nachi, and B Flow who won BEST MVAA Lifetime Achievement in Good Leadership.
According to their socials, the voting period is from July 16 to September 2nd, 2025, and the award ceremony will be in Lagos, Nigeria(the date has not been specified).
The awards also feature some big African entertainment names, including Nigeria’s Wizkid and Kuami Eugene, South Africa’s Naledi Apiwe, Uganda’s THE BEN, and DRC’s Fally Ipupa.
Zambia’s nominated creatives are up for a tough fight, but with the country’s backing, success at this award show is guaranteed.
