IT WAS A WARDROBE MULFUNCTION CAUSED BY MY POTBELLY – MC WABWINO RESPONDS TO OUTFIT CRITICISM
Legendary singer MC Wabwino took the stage this past Saturday at the Danny Kaya Music Festival 2025. Shortly after starting to perform, videos of him started going viral sponsored by his outfit.
The singer appeared on stage wearing a sheer black long-sleeved top with a garment underneath, which seemed like a crop top.
The singer received criticism from social users over the outfit, with some saying that at first glance, they thought it was Xaven The Kopala Queen.
The singer has responded sarcastically, saying in part, “They chose to express their admiration through cyber bullying (talk about mixed signals, right?).”
MC Wabwino revealed that his outfit had a stage wardrobe malfunction due to his “potbelly” pushing the shirt upward, making it seem like he had a crop top on.
“So, it seems my stylish potbelly had other plans – it decided to stage a mini wardrobe malfunction, revealing my, ahem, ‘tender’ abs to the world! Some lovely Bemba ladies were clearly impressed,” clarified the singer.
The singer added saying dancing on stage shirtles is a traditional prerequisite where he comes from but unlike his friend Mwila from “Shirtless Boys” whose performance received excitement from Ngoni ladies his pottbelly betrayal got him the opposite reaction.
MC Wabwino then said he was pushing his artistic expression a notch up before asking how his performance was at the festival. He then went ahead and promised to carry a few extra safety pins at his next show performance to prevent his outfit from betraying him again.
“Either way, I remain your obedient servant in the music arena, ready for the next show,” sad MC Wabwino.
