MUTALE MWAZA HAD ME ARRESTED OVER TRUMPED-UP ASSAULT CHARGES – CHANDA JOHN CHIMBA

Chanda John Chimba narrates how he got arrested in 2021 over false allegations of assault and his subsequent release after political intervention.

He wrote; I remember in 2021 how Mutale fabricated a story and came up with a fake accusation that I had assaulted her. Then there was a Chola girl, Sarafina, whom I had met at Twin Palm Mall and only asked her to behave herself.
She went to Mutale and told her she had met me at the mall, and the following day cops called me to go to Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe Police in Avondale.
When I got there, I was locked up after a warn and caution, with a fake, bogus, and malicious claim that I had assaulted Sarafina, which I never did.
The medical report, which was signed by a foolish doctor who was probably paid to sign fake claims, stated that her tissues in the head were messed up, that I had run over her left leg with a car, and that she had a lot of internal injuries from my “beatings,” when I didn’t even touch her.
I was thrown into cells. Mutale personally came to SMK Police to make sure I was locked up and threatened the officers that if they dared release me, they would be transferred. The officers were scared.
I went into cells. It took Hon. Munir Zulu and Sammy Chibesa to come to my rescue. Munir organized sureties for me and began the process to have me released. The officer in charge was called, and he came and allowed that I be released, provided I met all requirements.
When Mutale heard I was going to be released, she came to the police again, shouting and scaring the officers. It was crazy. Munir also stood by me and exchanged words with Mutale. It was a crazy night. Finally, I got released and went home.
My mother’s BP was high when she heard I was in cells, and my two grandmothers were not at peace either. Mutale wanted to see me rot in jail. Till date, I don’t know what the reason behind that behavior was. A few weeks later, her friendship with Sarafina died. It was another tit for tat.
Sarafina was taken to cells by Mutale and spent more than a week inside, with no one to sign bond for her, while she was at Kabwata Police. I remember Chomba Kaoma and our sister Chanda linked me up.
We drove to the police, went to see Sarafina, talked to her, and took her some food. This was despite what she had done to me a few weeks earlier.
When I went home, I sat down by myself, very bitter with Sarafina but more bitter with Mutale. I told my grandmother about it, and she looked at me, gave me her rosary, and said, “Go and pray, boy. Everything is in God’s hands.” That’s how I prayed, and all is history. I forgave them both.
Today, Mutale is going through the worst. There is a possibility she may be jailed for cyber-related crimes against Chichi, whom she said very bad things about without knowing what sort of damage those malicious stories would have on Chichi.
But life is a gamble and is full of lessons. I don’t wish bad for anyone, and I pray and hope it ends well with Mutale. I also pray and hope Chichi has gotten over the damage and emotional torture the stupid things Mutale said about her did to her brand, her mental health, and her life.
All in all, let us remember, not every day is a Sunday. Sending prayers for Mutale, and may God’s will prevail.
