MACKY 2 backs YO MAPS, saying he’s the most genuine soul in this generation who has sponsored people’s college, bought and built his parents cars and houses, and helped upcoming artists for free; to say he’s reckless and continue to vilify him is heartbreaking.
The rapper said that YO MAPS makes mistakes and questionable decisions; however, that shouldn’t overshadow his good deeds. “I have seen him make meaningful and inspirational music… I actually think he is very misunderstood,” said the rapper.

He added, “Let’s not vilify a young man who has given so much. Let’s give him grace. Let’s learn to separate a moment from a legacy.”
Rapper Macky 2 was very instrumental in Yo Maps’ rise to prominence and the mainstream; even though he is almost never vocal on the singer’s online issues publicly, the few times he has been, he has always backed the singer, encouraging him to keep going, and this is just one of those examples.
“We rise when we hold each other with MERCY. Keep your head up mwaiche wandi Yo Boy,” added the rapper.

Macky 2’s comments come after Yo Maps’ over two weeks of public scrutiny and backlash over women kissing and caressing scenes in his “Budget” music video that many people felt went against Zambian traditional norms.
In addition, the public uproar was fueled by B Flow and ZAM’s statement on the issue that caused the Olios to respond and a social media exchange between Kidist, Yo Maps, and the ZAM president to ensue.
Macky 2 has not directly condemned the singer for putting scenes that go against Zambian traditional norms but echoed the Olios cry of the unfairness of always beeing singled out.
