GENERAL KANENE IS A CHILD MOLESTER, YO MAPS DID WELL NOT TO GIVE HIM A FEATURE SAID A SOCIAL USER
Zambian artist General Kanene popularly known for his ‘Chi Neighbor’ and ‘Kansapato’ hit songs is now under public scrutiny after he made a post 5 days ago requesting for a Yo Maps feature saying the nation was in need their collaboration.
The artist wrote in a post taging Yo Maps, he said, “People are in need of our collaboration, and I have a song for you and me mungono wanga(my young brother).” Meanwhile, many wondered why he did not contact him directly, others recounted his remarks against Yo Maps two years ago over a tending topic.
The artist said on record, “Ati Yo Maps sanga pefome kuma komboni, manje Yo Maps aleke ku pefoma kuma komboni? Ku ma komboni kuli bantu boina kuchila tuma tako twake. ” This translates to how can Yo Maps stop performing in shanty compounds when there a people fatter than his bums in those places.
In a post supposedly directed at General Kanene, Yo Maps’ manager DJ Kandeke bluntly turned down the request saying being an industry veteran does not guarantee free collaboration. “We are in this for BUSINESS, not CHARITY,” said Kandeke.
This move was welcomed by a white tiktoker man(bye_bye_fatman) who made a video in support of Yo Maps’ decision not to work with General Kanene, saying the artist is an ex-convict and a child molester.
“I wanna give a shout out and congratulate Yo Maps for refusing to collaborate with General Kanene,” said the tiktoker highlighting that it had nothing to do with their artistic abilities but that General Kanene is a ex convict of child molestation and sexual assalt on a 14-year-old girl.
According to AP News in a post dated December, 23rd 2025 , General Kanene alias Clifford Dimba was sentenced to 18 years in prison for sexual assalt on a 14-year-old girl and was pardoned by former president Edgar Lungu after serving only a year.
AP News further reports that barely 4 days after being released, he assaulted his wife, who did not press charges, and he was also arrested and charged for assaulting another woman at a club. General Kanene was 30 years old at that time.
The tiktoker expressed disgust at his history of women abuse and campaigned for men to stand against such offenders especially at a time Zambia is battling the rise in child defilement and gender based violence.
Hence, highlighting his reasons for congratulating Yo Maps’ refusal to feature General Kanene, even though DJ kandeke’s main reason for turning down the feature was ‘financial.’ This has been an issue of public discussion for the past five days. What are your views?
